Helpful information to include
Where relevant, please tell us:
- the BeanBrain app version (Settings shows it on newer builds; the App Store listing also shows the current version);
- your iOS version and device model;
- what you were doing when the problem happened;
- what you expected to happen, and what actually happened;
- step-by-step instructions to reproduce it, if you can.
Do not send passwords, Apple Account credentials, or any sensitive information that is not needed to resolve the issue. BeanBrain has no account and never asks for one.
Common questions
Why can't I review a Backlog card yet?
The Backlog flags material that needs attention, such as a card you failed today or one that is overdue. It does not let you review a card before its scheduled date. If a card is not yet due, the Backlog shows it for context and offers remediation, such as editing the card, rather than an early review, so the spacing schedule is not undermined.
What do Again, Hard, Good and Easy mean?
Again means you did not recall the answer unaided. Hard means you recalled it, but with difficulty. Good means you recalled it. Easy means you recalled it immediately and with confidence. These ratings are your own assessment; BeanBrain does not check whether your recalled answer was actually correct.
Why does using a Hint count as Again?
A hint means the retrieval was not successful unaided, so BeanBrain treats that review as Again for scheduling purposes.
Why doesn't my Mock Exam change my review schedule?
A multiple-choice Mock Exam is recognition testing. BeanBrain keeps that separate from the constructed-recall evidence that drives spaced-repetition scheduling, so exam results never change your review dates.
How do reminders work?
Review reminders are optional and off by default. If you turn them on, BeanBrain asks iOS for permission and then schedules local notifications on your device based on your review workload. There is no BeanBrain notification server, and BeanBrain does not track whether a reminder was delivered or opened.
Where is my study data stored?
On your device. BeanBrain has no account and no BeanBrain server. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
